I bought a Lexar 4 gig 80x compact flash card from Paul Lowe (Paul L) a few weeks ago, on these forums.
He first posted an advertisement to sell the compact flash card. I posted that I wanted to buy it, and also emailed him saying the same. He seemingly ignored my post and correspondence, and posted that if he didn't have any takers he'd go to Ebay and auction it. I reposted that I'd said I wanted it, and he sent me a terse email telling me the details for sending him the payment via PayPal--no "hi" nor "thank you" nor any such in his email. I sent the cash, along with a brief email message that I needed him to include a receipt, since this was a business expense. A few days go by... he never bothered to send me any confirmation that he received payment, nor confirmation that he sent out the package. I eventually emailed him, requesting confirmation, and he sent me a copy-paste of the package tracking info. I received the package, and Paul did not include a receipt. I emailed him again, asking for a receipt. He never bothered to even email me back a response, much less send me a receipt. It's been about three weeks since then, and I expect he's never going to send me the receipt, or even respond to any further email, much less ever utter a gracious word.
He's honest, but I'd rather have paid a few bucks more to deal with someone who isn't unfriendly, unresponsive, uninformative, and uncooperative. I'll avoid him for future transactions. He's not worth the bother.

Addendum: It turned out that the Lexar 4 gig 80x card Paul L sent to me was of a serial number of a run which was defective, and not compatible with my camera. (It would drop photos, instead of writing them to a 1Ds Mark2). [I suspect he knowingly sold me a defective card, but I can't be sure.] Lexar offered free replacements, but only *with a reciept*. Of course, I didn't have a receipt, because Paul L didn't give me the receipt as I'd asked for, and ignored me thereafter. Thus, I couldn't get my defective card replaced, and I ended up stuck with an unusable card I'd paid $335 for. I strongly recommend not doing business with Paul L, due to the potential consequences which arise from his callous uncooperativeness and non-communicativeness.
