Item: Trade my Canon 70-200 f4 + cash for his 70-200 f2.8
I am leaving this as a neutral feedback only because he gave me my refund & my lens was returned unharmed. But for other buyers & sellers I will list my experience with Mr Karp so that you can decide whether you would like to deal with him or not. I am just stating facts & not personal opinons.
The above trade was offered. He wanted to receive the money & my lens before he shipped his. I made it clear that I was only willing to go with the deal if he agreed on simutaneous shipping. He agreed to those terms so I sent payment with paypal. He said he wanted to wait for Paypal to clear before shipping and ask me to do the same. That was fine with me.
Paypal cleared on Thursday as scheduled & I shipped my lens and sent an email to Mr Karp that the lens was on its way via insured priority so he should get it Friday or Saturday. He replied stating that he could not get it shipped out that day because he didn't ck for the clearance untill late but would have UPS pick it up on Friday. He then emailed me asking for a tracking number. I told him I didn't have one.
He then replied early Friday evening stating that he will not ship until he receives my lens because I gave him no proof that it was sent. This was baffeling to me because if the original plan was to ship simutaneously neither one of us would have "proof" that it was sent before shipping. I messaged him and said I didnt like the fact that he went back on the original agreement and asked for a refund & for him to ship back my lens.
He agreed and refunded my money on paypal & said he would ship it back once he received it. He emailed me on Saturday to notify me that he had received it. He then said because of religeous observations he would not be able to ship back the lens until Monday or Tuesday. I finally received my lens on Weds, and the package was opened but no harm to the lens.
I have my own opinion about Mr Karp after this transaction but will keep it to myself since negative feedback is not allowed on this forum. But I will mention that the refund was done immediately & the lens was returned unharmed.
