How thick is it? Is it more than seven inch?

Are there backpacks that are less than 7-9 inch in depth or thickness? Thanks!

Check out Crumpler Laptop/Camera Backpacks. They have three different sizes and are fairly reasonable with regard to pricing. http://www.crumplerusa.com/products/full_camera_laptop_backpacks.html

They are all around 7 inches or so deep. But they hold the camera with lens attached and have a good secure "back only" access to your gear.
