Personally I don't get it since the removal of the rear element has totally ruined the image quality. Cool idea, but I'm not impressed by anything other than the effort. Kudos for trying it out!
Jim, i have got this lens without rear lens already and i have normal eos converted fd 85 1.2L and ssc asph 85 1.2, so why not to use this "half" good lens in other project. As i have showed before it is very good performer on Mamiya 645 AF/AFD body when you stop down by f2 -f4, so here is a question of sensor area and f stop, it is nice to have two different characters in one lens just changing f stop.
If you stop down, what's the point? A 80/2.8 will yield a thousand times better results at f/2.8.
I really like the idea of f/1.2 on MF, but not if the image quality is like that from a Lens baby.
Edit: How about flipping the mirror up and use it with scale focusing, with the rearmost element in place?
While I salute your creative engineering I can't enjoy the pictures themselves. Most are not sharp even at these sizes and bokeh is, well, how shall I put it mildly? With a lot of character....
