Thanks... This was taken in Saguaro NP east side Tucson, AZ. It looked like the sky was going to explode, but petered out with just alittle sunset activity. I took a different trail, and it turned out to be a dud with just a few saguaros hanging out. The other trail was peppered with massive saguaros everywhere and a lot better photo ops. I did the best I could with what was available.
Thanks for the kind comment.
Actually didn't need any PS shadow/highlight recovery on this shot, so didn't use it. Did use a very small % of Topaz adjust to help define the clouds somewhat.
Thanks for the C&C and congrats on your 3 WA wins.
This is my first WA submission, I wish I would have tried the WA before as it's fun and very challenging.
This would look great with a bit more foreground interest balancing the cacti on the right. The sky colours look a little unnatural maybe, but it's a fine shot nonetheless.
great shot, having just been to Saguaro, it reminds me of the trip. I really like the lighting, it captures the cactus in a different light, and color.
Saguaros are one of my favorite Sonoran desert subjects! This is a nice image and clever title. I think the only thing that prevents this from being a strong image is the composition. There is a lot of "empty" or irrelevant space in the foreground and to the left.
Your sky looks like something we would see in AZ.
Cheers,
BLR (P.S. I went to school at the UofA in Tucson)
