I'm against it on the grounds of body depth. I like full frame, but I don't want the camera any bigger/clumsier than it must be. All the articulated monitors I have seen have added significantly to the size of the camera, both in depth, and in things to catch on other stuff during over the shoulder operation or sliding it into a case. Why not just have an optional pocket monitor with or without a connecting wire? That's much more useful, and doesn't require extra depth in the body.

Now if it would just unclip and connect wirelesly now that would be useful !
This is essentially what I was thinking yesterday, specifically:
The recent Canons support remote live view, either wirelessly or tethered.
Instead of connecting to my computer, I want to connect to my iPod Touch (iPhone, for the more well-endowed among you), either wirelessly or tethered (more likely tethered for most of us who don't plan to buy the WiFi doohicky for the camera). The iPod/iPhone could be an external monitor / external control / remote shutter release / intervalometer / etc., etc. Heck, it could be programmed to do intelligent auto-ISO for us (via a feedback loop), if Canon won't program it into the cameras!
I'm not a programmer. Any of you have the SDKs for both a new-ish Canon body and the iPodT/iPhone? Maybe this would require the enhanced interfacing features of the next iPhone/iPodT platform.
Back in the day I had a Canon G3. The only thing that ever failed was the articulated LCD's wiring harness. I really like the idea of a wireless detachable LCD
I can't see it coming to pro bodies because - just like built-in flash - it would compromise BQ but I guess most consumers would welcome it. I know I would.
