Im not sure if there is anyone still waiting on the lever variety from 16-9.net but I got mine this week after a long long wait.

It works very well and seems nicely made. The lens is fantastic and fortunately worth the wait.

Cool! TIA.

Also, did you have to modify the weather-stripping/seal of the lens to accommodate the adapter like Mark mentions on his website?
I have the original twist adapter of his and was thinking of getting this one when the backlog for it was gone. How long ago did you order it?

Ok, late here so I hope these at least help a little. Yes I took the rubber gasket off, seemed to pop out without much of a fuss and Ive kept it in the unlikely event that I decide to sell it!

I ordered mine in December but I did have an order in slightly before for the leverless. It does certainly seem longer though.

Unfortunately Mark's communication was a little wanting and I think it would have been better if he had least put updates on his website rather than having to answer everyones gripes and hence ignoring emails... Anyway, Mark ( I know your listening)... thanks.. I love it... Anyway heres some very quick pics..

Buggar... I cant upload as I dont have a subscription... Can I email them to someone and they can upload?

The adapter looks like the lever-less version and has the three dots for f2.8,f8,f22 with same small spacing in between.
So does the lever have click stops in between the dots?
How do you know which f-stop you are on between the dots?
By counting click-stops?
Looks like its using the ridges on the outside of the adapter ring and the adapter has a section cut aways so the lever can connect inside to push the aperture lever of the lens.

No it doesnt have click stops. Just a smooth transition. I guess you have to guess the f stops or go by the exposure meter. Yeah it has a lever inside to push the aperture knob.

Any infinity focus issues with the adapter?

A picture of the other side of the adapter (side connected to the lens) would be very interesting to see.
Thanks for taking the time to post these pix.

Doesnt appear to be. There is a very small amount of play in the adaptor but nothing that has affected it yet, probably no more than my Contax to Canon adaptors. I havent done a huge amount of testing yet though as I only just got it and the main shots I have done so far have been just inside infinity at f8.. And a few at f22 just to see how bad it was on the 5d and its bad!!! Will add further comments when Im concrete on things.

Yikes,

I was hoping that the lever version would have a way to precisely set the f-stops without guessing. IMHO, in regards to precise f-stop control, that this lever version is not any better than the lever-less version.

You could ask pdmphoto who placed the photos for me. Theres a couple he didnt post that I sent him and one was of the lens side of the adaptor.

The throw between 2.8 and 22 is so short I guess its not really possible. For the most part the depth is so great on this lens Im happy at just putting it slightly past the f8 mark and fire away at hyperfocal.

Yes, that is how I mostly use my lever-less version set at f8 and then I usually end up focusing more closer to infinity than hyperfocal in order to get the distant background sharp enough.

At least with the lever version you don't have to worry about the lens twisting and going to a different f-stop like you do

I do not own this adapter nor do I have the lens. Just a remark: The AF-confirm chip may tilt the lens slightly to one side, this effect can be the reason for less than optimal performance. UWA are very sensitive to this. Corner sharpness has much improved on my ZF 18 since I removed the chip.

That is why it s probably worth to check the adapter from time to time and see if the chip lies flat on the adapter itself or if it has become loose by mounting and unmounting the lens to the camera.

I'm always listening. Sometimes cringing.

The website is continuously updated, but sometimes there are long production delays and often there's nothing new to say.

The basic problem is that very high levels of industrial-grade precision are needed to make them, but the quantities are so small that anyone so equipped won't touch them. The CNC machining is relatively straightforward, but the hand-finishing is fiddly. On the plus side, I've just received a batch of 25 adaptors that will go out this week and clear orders up to January/February.

The other basic problem is that I can't devote more than 10% of my working time to the production of adaptors and the attendant customer service, so inevitably some buyers are going to feel a bit unloved. A big sorry goes out to all so treated. And a hug.

There are, however, lots of happy users out there enjoying the 14-24mm, and a fair number who couldn't wait who have been refunded. I guarantee everyone will get theirs in the end, but at present we're still looking at 5-6 week delays. 'Fortunately', the last few weeks have seen very few orders coming in; hopefully that will give me the chance to catch up and move towards the longed-for 'in stock' situation I've been striving for since early 2008!
