p.1 #1 · soft box grid

i received my softbox grid today and i wanted to know if the other diffusion panels are necessary.

grid > outer diffuser panel
outer diffuser > grid

or should i just go with
inner diffuser > grid?

how do you guys use yours?

However you want. Play with the different combinations and see which light you prefer, or which works best for different scenarios.

One of the things the grid is designed to do is to cut spill and lens flare. I use one on my hairlight SB for that reason because I've got low ceilings in my basement shooting space:

In that application it works better on the outside

Wouldn't you defeat the purpose of the grid if you put another diffuser on top of it?
