When Zeiss delayed the ZF, they told me that, as a side effect, the ZE would come out at the same time, and mine has been scheduled, so I am told, for the end of this month.
Waiting for Lloyd's comparisons of the ZF21 (two samples) vs. the 14-24G.
The suspense is killing me.
Looks like the Zeiss 21 test shots didn't come out good, so he is rechecking everything.

Lloyd Chambers is talking about "issues eg lens mount". Does this say that he is not testing with a Nikon-camera? Why else would there be an issue with the lens mount.
He tests his all his lenses with a D3x (native mount or for example converted from Leica R to Nikon with Leitax kit) and a 1Ds3 (and sometimes a 5D2 as well) with CQ adapters where applicable.
Had an interesting shot with my new 21ZF - I was going out to shoot some landscape (got pretty much rained out) but the camera was sitting on the front seat when I saw a spectacular shot, grabbed it and got a couple of shots through the windshield. Here's what it looks like (with the dashboard cropped out).

Here's a 100% crop. If it does this not focused, poorly exposed, while I was hitting the brakes and not even looking through the viewfinder (just held out in my right hand) and through a wet windshield, I've got some hopes for this lens :-)

I think I'm more concerned about your driving technique than your photographic technique
It seems to be a joke. So many people are waiting for that lens and those who got it
are playing some stupid game. Just post a shot or two, properly done, how hard is it?
Theres was a guy who linked up some raws off the new CZ21 on the D3x either in the Nikon forum or on DP's Nikon forum. Sorry I cant remeber which one I got them off but I downloaded them. Pretty good but not earth shattering... Maybe mounting the 14-24 on my 5D2 may have spoilt me!

I'm afraid the delay in diglloyd review after he had 2 samples can only mean one thing: The lenses didn't perform as expected.
Such cynicism! ;-)
Now, now. I'm sure he just wants to get it right. Let's just wait until he finishes his review. Speculation on why he hasn't finished yet isn't productive and unfairly predjudical.
Let the man do his work the way he deems fit and to preserve his high standards. We're all better off for it.
Even just looking at the linked NEF files, I think things look favorable for this new lens. Those shots are not ideal examples to begin with as they include extreme DOF, appear to be focused at infinity and are shot at 2.8 and 5.6. Examining subject matter detail where the lens is actually focused (Top left corner distant trees and objects behind the fork lift), I find the sharpness impressive with decent processing (I used Raw Developer 1.8.3 and R-L convolution sharpening set to a radius of 60, iterations at 20). If there turn out to be issues with the lens, I expect it would not be an inherent design issue but a quality control issue.
