Andreas,

Something tells me the 18 on the 5D is going to make this decision easy for you - once you do a portrait high-sky shot with clouds and blue skies, you'll just never be able to leave it alone -

The 24VFC will have to go. I have decided to go for the wider lens. See B&S if you are interested.

I've just gotten my Zuiko 24mm 2.8 prime that is pretty sweet (esp. for the $$$). I have it covered longer with a CZ C/Y 35-70 3.4 and lower with a Tamron 17-35 2.8-4.

Like so many of us ... funds are an issue. While the Tamron doesn't have the heart & soul of a prime . . . it does a nice job ... UNTIL my funds change for a sweeter prime in the 17-21 range.

I realize that you ALREADY have two SWEET primes ... which I would probably agree with others sentiment of KEEP THEM BOTH (unless you really have a strong shooting style toward one of them).

Another thought to consider: Wide can be cropped, longer can be stitched. If you have a preference or tendency toward either of these options . . . it could guide you a little as well.

If funds are really an issue, and you still need one of the ranges ... consider trading down to the Tamron, etc. for a temp solution that covers BOTH the 18 & the 24 ... whichever way you decide to go.

Good luck!

I picked up a Zuiko 21/2 and absolutely love it! A week later I picked up a Nikon 14-24. Both are incredible lenses!

Tax refund spending is now over! Now waiting for my economic stimulus check!
