p.1 #1 · Nikon lens for Micro 4/3 body?

Does anyone know if there are any adaptors that permit Nikon AI lenses to be used on a Micro Four Thirds body (like the Lumix G-1)? I have seen adaptors for Nikon AI to Four Thirds, but I haven't seen anything for Nikon to Micro Four Thirds.

I use my Nikon to FD adapter mounted on the FD to G1 adapter. I haven't seen any Nikon to G1 yet but several manufactors are stating coming soon.

I read about a 4/3 to Micro 4/3, and I have seen Nikon to 4/3, but I wonder if there would be a problem using two adaptors between the lens and the camera?

I had no problems stacking adapters, as long as they don't leak any light and maintain the correct overall register distance..

I haven't found any problems using two stacked adapters. I use a cheap Leica-R-->4/3 adapter and then the Panasonic 4/3-->micro 4/3 adapter. I also use the same setup for my Olympus OM lenses (OM-->4/3 and the Panny adapter).

I would prefer having just one adapter between the lens and the camera but as long as there is no play between the parts i don't worry about the combinations of adapters I currently use.

I also use the leica R to FD, FD to 4/3 micro combination.

I may have to investigate your Olympus combo

Panasonic makes an adapter to use Olympus 4/3 lens to micro 4/3 body. So all you need is an adapter that hook up your Nikkor lens to an Olympus 4/3 body.

One more thing, now that i came to think of something that just isn't a repeat; Novoflex has announced a Nikon F-->micro 4/3 adapter, preliminary shipping in May. That may be good. OTOH, as a totally Nikon illiterate I don't know if there is any difference between Nikon F and Nikon Ai lens mounts...

Some are really good, some are not. For example; the trusty old OM24/2.8 doesn't really handle the G1 pixel density. The OM50/2Macro and the OM90/2Macro are excellent (as expected).

For a medium tele lens the Voigtländer 75/2.5 (with a LTM-->micro 4/3 adapter) is hard to beat (with regards to size, weight, resolution, bokeh and price).

Just some findings, /Jonas

Jonas have you found a wide angle that handles the pixel density yet? I tried my FD 20-35 and 35-105 and a quick test with the Nikon 14-24 and just wasn't satisfied with any of them. The only one I have been satisified with is the Canon 7.5mm circular fisheye but it is still a fisheye and noticable in some shots.

Jonas, the only Nikon lenses I see a problem is the latest G lens. G lens doesn't have aperture ring on it so pretty hard to adjust the aperture. Unless we can adapt the Nikon G to Canon EOS adapter that 16-9 is making.

Just to clarify Nikkor AI or AIs has the Nikon F mount. Nikon has not change mount since the Rangefiner days.

Novoflex is shipping the G-capable adapters as well as similar adapters for K and Alpha mounts (Which give aperture control on DA and FA J lenses for K mount and for all aperture-equipped Alpha lenses respectively).

I went to an Oly. demo at a lare camera store today, 11/14/09. They did have on display an Nikon to micro 4/3 adapter on display. They said it would work for Nikon lenses on the ep-1/2 bodies, and would focus to inf. Iam not sure if this is what the OP is asking for?, just offering what i saw.

eBay seller Jinfinance used to have it (along with the Canon one which I have), and I have seen one in person. But it seems that it is no longer listed, may be you can ask him about it.

snegron,

I have used the Voigtlander Nikon F to M43 adapter on my E-P1 for my 28 2.8 ai-s, 105 2.5 ai-s, 35 2.0D & 50 1.8D lenses. Works great. I got it from Photo Village.
