I'm puzzled by the seemingly similar exposures when the ISO and shutter speeds were the same, but three apertures a full stop apart from each other. How can this be? Did you alter the exposure value of two of them in DPP? Just curious...

Yeah I find it very interesting that the exposures are all slower for the MK II. Maybe the MK I suffers from metering issues? I'd like to see a comparison with the exposures identical. Funy thing is I expected a crap load of posts like this with everyone rushing to show off their new 70-200's today, but the board's been quiet. I wonder how many have actually sold?? I also expected to see a sold out tag on both B&H and Adorama but they are still in stock. Hmmmm...
I see you have just got a new 70 - 200 2.8 IS USM lens, I too have just bought one and wanted to check out if it is normal for it to make a mechanical rolling noise when the shutter button is pressed and then for a couple of seconds once it is released!
I have no other experience with this lens, although I thought this may be the USM I wanted to check with another user(s) as you know it was a big investment and want to make sure it is perfect.
Apart from the noise is seems to be working fine, would really appreciated hearing if yours is the same.
That's the sound of the IS mechanism working. It will stay on for a few seconds after you release the shutter button. Sound like a light humming followed by a faint click right before it turns off. It is normal.
Try turning the IS off and that sound will dissappear.
Congrats and have fun with it!
