I love the look also of your "painted" bokeh!!! The hibiscus in the picture is very nice also. The variations of hibiscus are amazing. They are a very "dramatic" flower to photograph...
Some very nice pics posted on this topic. They are a real inspiration. The links below are for a couple of my current faves. The first was shot with a 75-300 Canon lens on a T1i. The second was with an 18 - 55.
First it was the wind, now it is a bunch of bugs that are ruining my flower shots. What's a guy to do?
All are from a testing session of the 7D to see how it did with semi macro shots. The first image is the 70-200 MkII (which I dearly love) at F2.8 and the others are my normal flower lens, the 85L.
Thanks Mike. Adding the little bug...gers into the equation makes for a lot more poorly focused frames and adds greatly to the urghhhhhhh factor. Thank goodness for digital, I can't image trying to do this stuff with film and having enough money left over for soup and shoes.

I was thinking just yesterday about the "high cost" of digital cameras. Then I estimated how much it would have cost me to make the number of pictures I have in the last year on Velvia. I am way ahead using digital. In fact, a 5D Mark II is downright cheap!
