Very nice images. Who needs a 500, when you have a 40D & 100-400! I just got mine as well and the 100-400 works so much better than on the 20D.

I've been travelling over the last week or so and missed a lot of posts. Over to Washington for work, then up to Ottawa for the weekend to see the folks and now back in Geneva. Brought my camera and 70-200 lens with me and got some shots in Ottawa but otherwise pretty quiet. Looking forward to getting out here at the weekend and hoping the weather holds up.
Now how about sharing some of your workflow tips

I wished I was lower on #1 but I was hiding behind a boat parked on the shore and this guy popped up quite close. Unfortunately hiding away near the shore is the only way to get closer to these guys (or get an 800 )..they're very shy.

Nello, with all this talk of crazy PP flows you're making me think that I'm not doing enough. It looks good though, sharp and nice clean BG's. Sometimes you can see some blurry edges... Like, 6 - but maybe I'm just making that up. I don't want to nit-pick or make your PP to-do list any bigger!
Great shooting. I can't pick a favourite, but if I had to it would be from shots 1-4.
