The eyes of our Siberian Husky seem to pierce right through you, and when she stares you better hope that she isn't thinking wicked thoughts. As always C&C Welcome
Beautiful animal. Beautiful pic. Only thing that bothers me is the end of his collar. It marks him as a domestic dog and these are mostly harmless creatures. Therefore - in my eyes at least - it lessens the wickedness effect.
Jdieken, Fwellers, & Johnny5: Thanks for the comments.
Yakim,
You are correct, the tags were somewhat distracting so I went ahead and removed them.
Domesticated dogs do give people a false sense of security which is why there are over 4.7 million victims of bog bites in the USA annually, 30 of which are fatal.
Sorry, I just have to come to the defense of all "fluffy-butts" everywhere! We have been owned by a lot of Siberians (I raced a sled-dog team for many years, and was once President of the International Siberian Husky Club.) I suppose to someone unfamiliar with the breed, they could appear to be "wicked" but I just can't feel that way. Mischievous, absolutely. A unique and somewhat bent canine sense of humor, yes. Very energetic and active, for sure. But they are happy, cheerful, loving and good-hearted to a fault! Um, I must admit that no rabbit is safe within their reach... And there was that roast beef that completely and mysteriously disappeared without a trace from the kitchen counter... And -- well, there are a bunch of stories I could tell, but had better not...
Hello all, I would like to thank everyone for their comments.
I feel I must clarify something though as this image is a perfect example of how "looks can be deceiving". As CalW said, Siberian are a very friendly breed and our case the only thing that one need to fear is being licked to death by her. All she wants to do in that picture is to play ball and she was getting quite tired of me tormenting her so I could take a picture.
The heights of both subject and photographer make for a wonderful photograph. Probably a real gentle dog, but this photo captures something almost sinister.
