I have a friend who is having problems with his 70-200 F4L. Below is what he told me.
It has stopped focusing. Period. Even in manual, although every once in a while, it seems to work. Is this worth sending in for repair? I was told today that the least it would cost is 150 bucks plus S&H. Any ideas?
Do you guys have any idea what he should do? Thanks!
Mine was $160 to fix at the Irvine Canon repair. And considering it fell out of a back pack, about 5 feet off the ground, and onto pavement, was a good deal.
Make sure that he did not accidentally set the * button to be the focus button. I had the same problem with my 70-200, and it turns out I just messed up some Custom Functions.
