Thanks! The bokeh in my hands are of course added in during post. On analog film it would've been double exposed. The lighting is 1 umbrella (250w daylight) low camera right, just below my hands and gallery spots above the hands. Fluorescent tubes bouncing off white walls to balance the spots. The background was masked in during post, the plain backdrop wasn't doing it. The hand details were also worked on during post.
I know it's a lot of post processing for the assignments but this is what I've been leaning towards lately and the majority of the shot was still done in a traditional studio portrait manner. Hope that's okay :]
Very neat idea and completion. I love the way the dark areas make the light the center of focus. From there my eyes went to the back of the hands and kinda got stuck there. Maybe the left hand has a bit much highlight? Otherwise perfect. And I love the two figures in the upper right corner too. Very good story telling.
