The relative importance of the photographer is not the point to ponder here, as every wedding will have a photographer of some sort. The real point is why does the most important vendor (photographer) generally get paid in the lowest quartile?
well i wish i had a real answer for you but i think it all goes back to a recession years ago. people ost their jobs and resorted to being a photographer. they sucked and gave us all a bad name. now we have no respect and people look at us as low class people. well not all of us, just some. but still.... if your good, your clients like you and your getting work then there is no reason to do work for $1950
We are charging and making about double for 09 than we did for 08 at this point. charge more and you will not run into clients that are spending less because money is not as big a deal to higher end clients.
