Crystal is the town I live in though (My fault for not signing my post, I was trying to avoid unnecessary dialog in the post. I went a little too far.)

Lovely shot. And to think I just shot a similar subject but not with such intimacy….
Happy shooting,
Yakim.
Thank you, Yakim.
And to think, I almost didn't get this shot because the father's beliefs restrict him from having his picture taken. Good thing that just hands and arms don't count in that restriction
Beautiful it is. I tend not to understand such restrictions (though like everyone else I deal with various constraints constantly), but to each his own. I'm glad that you had this opportunity and could be so creative with it.
Thanks for all of the nice comments.
The couple were also a bit nervous about the pictures (both the taking, until they warmed up, and the possible portfolio use, until I said that I wouldn't use anything without their permission, of course), but with all of this praise, I'm sure they will feel much more comfortable.
As always, even if you love it, let me know any critiques that could help me improve in the future.
Very nice take, I like how th black hands form an heart.
Maybe the treatment could be improved a bit (BW conversion -> whiter whites...).
Did you try a shot right in front, dead center ? Had this idea because of the symetrical subjects. Makes me think of a landscape shot from the sky...
Julien - thanks for the suggestions. I did try a dead center shot, but I liked how her stomach looks in this angled shot. The dead on seemed too flat and I couldn't make the whole thing pop as much. I might play around with it a bit for the BW conversion, I basically just messed with some settings until I started to see the contrast and overall look I wanted, so I could definitely spend a bit more time working on it, just to see where it takes me. I'm new to photography and certainly post-processing, so a lot of it is pure trial and error right now.
Thanks again folks, keep your suggestions flowing!
