I would say a good price for good condition and original 49-72 adapter/hood would be around $700 or under and average price around $800-900.

would it be good idea to get this lens to replace 17-40L? i shoot mostly primes and thats my only zoom lens for that wide angle which i shoot mostly at 17mm anyways. i also shoot portraits with it when i want to go for that dramatic wide angle effect. hmmm

I did replace my 17-40 with this. Huge difference. The Zuiko is a really tiny too. Like a uwa pancake :-)

I have a 17-40L too, and frankly don't use it much anymore. The main reason I keep it is for shooting events that require AF, e.g. a wedding or something where getting the shot in a short amount of time is critical. Or, for environments where I don't want to risk the OM 18/3.5.

. guess ill hold on to the 17-40 for now unless i come across one
