If you guys are thinking of going to Iceland you better not leave me behind, I have been wanting to go for a long time...

Maybe it's time for a get together and organize a trip to Iceland? Hrannars work clearly indicates that there are great opportunities for landscape shots and that he knows where to find them...

You are welcome. Any alt photographer will be :-)

Organizing a trip can take some time. Maybe in winter to get some nice northern lights?

Hrannar: when is the best time to come and shoot in Iceland?

The summer is probably the best since the most dramatic scenery is in the highlands and not accessible in the winter. Winter is still fine. For aurora I think January/February is best but it's a roulette because some years the sky is clear almost every day and the next year we have maybe two good aurora days. I'd suggest a trip next summer in June/July. In late june it never goes dark and we have the "golden hour" all day long.

Best, Hrannar

Thanks Ulrik! I actually had your and André´s work in my head when I shot it. It is all about the angle...

Forgot to say. The first was shot with a CPL (B&W Käsemann slim).

I finished up a roll of film today with the 18/3.5 and my OM4. I like the lens a lot so far; however, it handles rather poorly with that big bulbous element. I'm very worried about catching it on something. I have a 49mm to 77mm step up ring, but the element still sticks out to far. I need another few mm to clear the front element. Any suggestions on a 77 to 77 adapter?

I can't confirm it won't vignette, but the thinnest filter you can find with front threads (maybe Hoya), with the glass removed, should get you past the front element.

I went with a 49-58 and a 58-77. Vignetted. I have sanded down the front of them to make the gap between the filter and the lens smaller. I have also filed the inside of the rings at an angle to get rid of the vignetting. Now works great. A 77-77 ring might work to. But I think some mod is required...

The original 49-72 is the one to get if you can find it. Be prepared to spend at least $50 for it on the open market though.

Wow, I have wanted this lens so badly for so long now...

Would anyone want to trade their copy for my Zeiss 16/2.8 Fisheye? I currently have one listed in the B&S forums.

I'd be up for paying $50 for one. I haven't seen any for sale.

Kyle, that's funny, I had 3 of these @ one point and did trade one for a zeiss 16/2.8 fisheye actually.

Both are great lenses, for different purposes.

Twok, nice shots. I like the gutter one a lot. I have a spare Oly 3.5/18 case, but alas not a a spare 49-72 hood/ring.

I do have spare hoods for the 90/2-135/4.5, and the 21/3.5 - 35/shift though, both of which are pretty hard to find.

How much do you want for the 21 hood? I missed out on one just the other day.

Nice, you have to be carful not to jam the front element through the tank!
