I haven't had time to read this whole thread yet, but before I do I want to say "Thanks". Living in a big city will make you forget stars even exist. I remember seeing them when I was a kid, but the light pollution is too strong now for all but the brightest (i.e., planets such as Mars and Venus)

Anyway, these are the kind of things that make these forums great.

Almost a year after the fact, but thanks again for posting.

I have shot star trails on film but moved to digital this year and could not get good results.

Your post was AMAZING not just for the incredible time, effort, and knowledge that you put into it but the artistry of the images as well.

I agree, this should be made a "sticky" at least until I get to where I can print it out!!
