p.1 #1 · Blog Picture Frame

Going to be setting up a wordpress blog and I've decided on using frames around the blog pics. Need a unbiased opinion on what I've come up with, does it detract or enhance? Too busy, too simple? Thanks!

Me gusta mucho, very nice! The shadow around the photo helps with separation, but I think maybe also dropping the opacity of the frame 30% or so would help to keep the viewer's focus on the actual image as well as make your logo stand out a bit better. Great job overall

In my opinion it detracts. I would go simple. It's hard to tell on just that pic, because the tones seem to go well with it, I would assume it wont always be that way. Also because of the vignette the shot stands out more against it, which again, I assume they wont all have.

Sure is cool looking though. And if it matched your blog theme... maybe you should just ignore me.

All opinions welcome!

I would have to vary opacity and tint to suit individual photos. I'll be going simple with the blog theme, so I should have some room to play on the frames.

Thanks for your comment!

Agreed on the opacity, especially with regards the logo standing out more. Thanks for the comment!

It's a great idea, but I think it's too busy. It will probably go well with certain shots and not others. I'd go with something simple that complements all your shots. I'd love to see any other designs you've come up with!

I really like the idea, but it's distracting. Try making is very subtle (almost black), and see what that looks like.

Just my $0.02.

It's really nice. However, I feel that it takes away from the pictures due to it being too... prominent.

Glad I posted it, seems pretty unanimous that it is too busy for this application. I'll see what I can do to mute it.

Thanks all for your help, you guys rock!

I really like it, though like other said would turn it down a bit. Can I ask where you got all the swirls from for it? I've been looking for a good set...

Surprised it took 12 posts for someone to make that comparison
