This was in my inbox this morning. I thought it might be of interest to some:
Dear Photographer.
In September, we issued an announcement that the CPS program will be undergoing some changes. You responded to me, requesting information. I, in turn, told you to send me your info and I would add you to the 'cps mailing list.' However, I am leaving Canon within the hour and have been informed that no one is taking my place, and therefore, no one will contact you about the availability of the new program, as I had promised. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but you will have to routinely check the cps website for updates. As of yet, the program is not available.
While it is somewhat disturbing, I would not be too concerned. Anyone that is "leaving Canon within the hour" is being layed off/fired and what the company may or may not have told him is of questionable truthfulness.
This in fact could just be an email from a disgruntled employee.
Right I have had a few emails from my local CPS rep and all seems well here. I received a reply regarding loan equipment and they are currently EXPANDING there loan fleet.
So as far as the UK in concerned all is well on the CPS front.
