It was a stifling hot afternoon. Harsh light. No clouds. It was still a very enjoyable visit

and finally ....... I couldn't make my mind up if they were tourists like us or "plants" supplied by the State Park

Nice images David. Time of day getting into Bodie is tough. I know you are a color guy, but some B/W conversions might look good here. At least you didn't have dust to contend with.
