p.1 #1 · A slight change away from alterntive lenses
Since owning the 5D2 I`ve been forced to pick up some of my Canon lenses again. I don`t want to get involved changing the 5d2 focus screen so hand holding without live view sees me picking up my 135 f2 and 85 1.8. Well! the results from that pair of lenses on the 5D2 are superb (shame the 135 doesn`t have IS) The Contax 21 2.8 is fine because to be honest it works just fine set to or near infinity. I also dug out my crapper built Canon 50mm 1.8mk2 and although I get no joy using it the results are really good (sharper in the centre than my contax 50 1.7) Doesn`t have the look and obviously the feel of my excellent Leica 50mm sumi but a past over lens that can really perform is that Canon 50.
I really think that Canon should provide a split screen although from previous posts I assume that changing a 5d type screen isn`t as straight forward as changing a 1 series screen where shimming is required.
