dont use my 90mm tammmy macro, but hope to soon more often, its just so sharp i dont want to sell.
sigma 12-24mm is about to go and exchanged for this legendary 14-24mm nikon.
100-400 gets some use as have friends who do motorsprort, although i dont go often, loathed to sell it though.
most used is 24-105 for my landscapes. www.spfoto.co.uk
You shouldn't hesitate on the 400 mm 5.6. You will find yourself using it a lot.
Since you have owned the 600 and still have a 500 and 800 - how do you stack up those lenses??
I may make the plunge next year but, the 600 is what I should get though the thought of the weight bothers me. The 500 isn't much of a jump from the 400 and the 800 is a little out of my league.
I have lenses that I don't use because I am building my arsenal of L primes then I'm selling off some nonsense.
I have enjoyed the images you have shared with us.
My least use or rarely ever use are:
70-200 2.8 IS - Rarely, maybe once a year
100 2.8 Macro - Never use it
300 f/4L IS - Never use, never had a chance to shoot with it yet
50 1.4 - Rarely, maybe once a year
*** These are all excellent lenses, and they do got their places when I need them. It's very hard to let go any of them.
24mm/2.8Just because 24mm is covered by many other lenses that I have: 24-70L, 16-35LII, 24/TSE, and 12-24. But the 24/2.8 is optically very good and so cheap, I won't sell it because it will hardly generate some cash anymore. It's EOSfun to play with from time to time, but hardly getting serious use anymore.
I wish I had your dispassionate view about equipment, Yakim. Sometimes, there are things you know you don't use enough, but have attachments to.
That being said, I use the 70-200 f/4 most infrequently, probably once every 3 months as I don't shoot that focal length often (1.6 crop). But, it's worth keeping.

Never. Lenses which I'm not using for more than a while (several months) are sold. No sentiments. These are tools, not objects of fetishism.

Yakim, you may be an uebermensch, but the rest of us are mere mortals. We love our lenses, be they used or not.
50mm f1.8 now that I have a 5D. I loved this lens on crop, but now I just use my 24-70mm.
My Sigma 28mm f1.8 I don't use enough, but it has come in handy for really small product shots.
Related story: I once was at a camera show where a teenager appeared with an XT and a fisheye. Apparently this was the -only- lens he had, and was thinking of a second (:
I've only got 2 that rarely see the light of day - EF-S 18-55 IS and EF 28-135 IS. Just got an XSi, and it, with those 2 lenses will be gifted to a friend next week. Maybe my EF 70-300 IS, too, although it's far above the other two in image quality.
I'm with Steve... I haven't used my 50mm f1.4 in forever, except with extension tubes... I much prefer the flexibility of a good zoom. Or a wider prime... which I don't own yet
