1. JPEG vs RAW -- The frequency posts in those threads by those who try to convince us that everyone should be shooting raw is unbelievable.
2. "Lookie what I just bought!" -- These threads remind me of a 2nd grader excited about their new toy.
3. "Waiting for the UPS truck" -- And this would be the 3rd grader who wants to tell everyone how grown up they are for just buying a new piece of gear. Or, it could be the "I'm going to die with the most gear and I want everyone to know it" type.
4. OT threads -- like this one! Really, what does this have to do with Canon gear?

I actually find those threads useful. We can all use the occassional reminder that our expensive camera gear is a prime target for opportunistic theives and simple safegaurds can help prevent loss.

If you do take duck photos..don't use $10k rigs....please !
That's how I feel about Bald Eagles, Sandhill Cranes and GBH's......big semi-domesticated birds, ponderous, slow flyers....I could shoot those with $700 worth of gear........camera+lens included.

I wish they would ban pointless photos in the gear section. 99% of them could have been taken with any DSLR. I don't participate in FM as much as in the past for that reason. Such photos should be placed in other forums, but some people cannot take the criticism.
I think having a separate forum for Nude and NSFW photos would be nice. That way if you click [next] at the bottom of the current page you won't be surprised by someone's 'art'. Maybe some enjoy the surprise....
I am going to be visiting xxxxxx (famous city, country, national park, etc.). Is there anything there worth taking pictures of? How long will it take to do it?
