The warmer black and white conversions are a working a lot better for me here. I am not digging the cooler ones.
I think that some of the compositions of the portraits need a little work. You seem to be allowing other things to compete with the attention of your subject. Trees, railing, cars are all "in the way" for me. Also, I thin that you chose to go horizontal a few too many times here and wasted a bit of the frame. Your candids are much stronger. Like with the little girl you got down to here level and shot, which feels more natural.
Maybe give the couple something to "do" rather than just hold a pose? This can help losen things up and get a more intimate feel.
When you say something to do, what do you mean, like talk, look at each other?
So if I want to set someone up for a shot. Get them where you want them and then get them to interact ? Talk, look at each other, look away, kiss, hug etc? Am I on the right track ? thanks
I think that a little interaction would be good for the photos, just make sure you don't do the same thing for each photo. Formals don't necessarily need this because the subjects need to look straight at the camera.
It looks like you have good exposure on most and I like your detail shots. I especially like the closeup of the shoes. The dress shots are also nice.
I'm not diggin' 24, and I wish the b&w conversions would be more consistent...all b&
w, all sepia, or all cooler tones. All in all, a good series, but work on the conversions' consistency and posing.
They look like you have learned PS pretty well, but the moments elude me to be honest. In fact I don't see anything that suggests a well timed shot. Sorry.
I think you have some decent tech merit, but the moments are what will count eventually, not staged and stiff looking images.
