p.1 #1 · Latest HDRI attempt Holidays on Campus

I've started to work on HDRs again, and I must say, it's far more difficult than the people around here make it seem. I've got a survey type book for technique that I think I'm going to finally go over in detail. Last weekend I headed back to ye olde alma mater. The first pic is Memorial Tower, and the second is the LSU Law Center.

A couple of immediate questions I have are: 1. is a remote shutter release necessary, as that's one thing my setup lacks I've tried just using the 2sec timer, but when I adjust the second set of bracketed shots, I think I'm moving the camera ever so slightly. 2. Is there an ISO limit for night time shots? It seemed like the pics I took below 400 on my 40D were dead from the start. 3) Finally, is there a size limitation? as a lot of mine seemed to look great from thumbnail to 800x600...but at 100% they appeared blownout and out of focus.

Here's what I use and my 2 cents!
Tripod
Aperture priority mode
3 shots, -2, E, +2
Merge is PS
Photomatrix plug in filter and adjust as necesssary.

Length of exposure would only make a differnce in the amount of noise?

Nice images. Good work!

I use a remote trigger just to avoid moving the camera. I use mirror lockup for all long exposures. I shoot in manual mode and bracket using shutter speed only to avoid DOF changes. Of course you need to have a solid tripod. As required I will use backpacks, stones, etc. to add weight to the tripod and anchor the legs.

LSU's Bell Tower and old Law School? Do you live in Baton Rogue?
