Gene, these are awesome! Congrats on the new camera. I am sure we are in for some real treats.
Did you calibrate the lens to the camera yet? The images are super sharp.
I sold my MKIII recently--and I do miss it! Haven't had a chance to give my new 50D a proper test yet.
I'll get another one someday.
Fantastic images Gene! What part of the Miss are you on? Brian Hansen and I were thinking about heading down to Debuque but they eagles are way south according to the eagle counts---and we DEFINATELY don't have any sunshine up this way.

Hi Johnny,
I was at L&D 14 in La Claire. There were only a handful there yesterday, but they presented some shots. There are lots down in Burlington (L&D 18) by the count . I have never been there but have heard there is limited place to shoot and good place to shoot. I might head down there this weekend to check it out , though it is a long drive for me.
I'm glad Santa was nice to somebody Gene! Also glad you found some eagles, wonderful job on these with the new gear. Favorite of the bunch is #3. Happy New Year to ya!

As a newcomer that is starting to get into Bird photography, these are the kind of photos that inspire me to go and practice and get better! Beautiful photos indeed.
THX
DITTO.
I have been a long time "other" photographer, but have been telling myself for months that I was going to get out and shoot some wildlife. Of course, my longest lens is a 300F2.8IS + 1.4x + 2x.... I bought a 50D in hopes of that helping with reach as well. But after seeing these, I may just have to use my 1D3 instead.

Wow F%$^&&* wow! You say this is a slow day? Dude you got razor freaking sharp, mean ass looking eagles catching fish.....I want to see your good days. These are probably the best eagle pics I have seen. I don't shoot this sort of thing, but these make me really want to get my 1D3 outside and out of these dark basketball gyms.
