Ah, the detritus of consumerism. I thought about shooting pretty lights but, in the end, as I was walking this morning, this came to me as the most common sight of the immediate post-holiday season.

Thanks, Jouko and Endre. I live in consumerist hell here in suburbia where there is apparently nothing to do but shop. Stacks and stacks of garbage tell the post-Xmas story here.
Unfortunately, recycling leaves a lot to be desired in Katy, Texas. We are in the land of consumption, not preservation, here. I had thought about trying to find a Xmas tree in a pile but my scouting trip turned up largely empty. Most people around here seem to use artificial trees.
