I think you've done a fine job here of capturing a familiar scene that would otherwise be cliche'. And, as I've unabashedly stated previously, while it isn't overly popular to like selective coloring, I do!
So, you've taken a risk with the coloring and tilt, and for some it'll be a score; others will maybe not so keen on it.
