Great shot Bev,
The use of selective color is very nice. The white tones of the dog's coat and the carpet give it a winter feel, and the touch of color provide by the collar remind me of all the colorful holiday light. Well done!.

Hi Beverly. Even though it's not your dog, I guessed it was your entry.
Great lighting! (Is that natural light - coming in from an open front door?)
Perfect turn of his head, and great monochromatic plus colored collar!

Carrol! thanks so much. Yes, it's natural light. Their living room ceiling is 2 stories high with windows around the top; he was at the top of the stairs and thus illuminated in a semi-circle of natural window light. He was virtually the same color as the carpet, so it was a very interesting sight, and shot. Ironically he was blocking my path down the stairs, and when I looked down and saw him sitting there I knew I had to take his picture! He looked so cute in his collar.
Perfect "Holiday" shot, Bev, my dear friend! The more I look at it, the more I like it. The Photo god's were smiling on you when this doggie sat down in front of you.
