First post on here after being very impressed by the general standard of regular posters work. I live in the Midlands in the UK & just came back from a Christmas break 'up north' in Northumberland. Got some pretty good weather considering the time of the year & the fact I was still in the UK!
Thought I would share a few pics, hope you enjoy them! C&C welcome.
The 6th is probably my favourite, an excellent composition and lovely colour and tone. I get a little tired of seeing that castle, when, like you have so aptly demonstrated, there is a lot more to the northumberland coast!
It is a beautiful part of the country & I was lucky to get some nice sunrise's & sunset's while I was up there. I do try to avoid the shots that have been done to death when visiting a popular area but couldn't resist with the first shot! In summer I imagine there is a queue of photographers on those rocks!
By the way I looked on your website & there is some seriously amazing work on there, keep it up!
Welcome to the Landscape Forum, Lee! I really like the Dunstanton pics, especially no 1 where the lighting amongst the rocks in the foreground is wonderful. I have wanted to take that very picture, with it's low POV, for a very long time. Outstanding.
Welcome and thats a great first set, love the way you use the ND's and GND's, to give that smoky misty feel. Is No 7 really 400 seconds exposure - wow?
Just checked the exif data of no.7 & for some reason it says the exposure was 30 seconds! It was certainly 400 seconds on bulb with a remote, I can remember as I was starting to get bored & cold!
Fantastic work here, I really like this series. #1 is my favorite, that one really shines. In #7, it's a very nice shot, but that moon should be cloned out, it really takes away from the shot in my eyes.
The discrepancy in the EXIF sounds about right, whenever I do bulb it records 30 sec. I have assumed that that number comes from the fact that that is the longest exposure that the camera can make automatically and obviously it doesn't time a bulb exposure.
