I don't post much but I lurk quite a bit. I've gone back and forth on which I like best but here is my favorite. James Lauranitus just after beating Michigan.
I'm not sure how it ranks with all of the pro photos here.
This isn't my favorite but would be if it were sharper and not overexposed in areas. The guy just caught a punt and got rocked. It seemed like he looked right at me as he was going down.
Of all the pics I shot last year this would have to be my best by far which is pretty amazing since it's not a sport image.
It's probably the most moving and inspirational pic I've ever taken.
Taken at the Adelaide, South Australia, ANZAC Day Dawn Service commemorating the Australian and New Zealand losses of WWI and the subsequent losses of Aussie troops in all wars Australia has been inolved in since.
It was shot during the playing of the Last Post and I had turned to see if I could get a shot of the crowd and there was this Digger saluting sillouhetted against the red sky of the rising sun.
It evokes the emotion and sombreness of the day and I just couldn't believe the shot that I had.
It's one of those "Oh Yeah" moments and I'll probably never get a shot like this again, no matter how many Dawn Services I go to.
Every time I look at this pic I stil get the hairs on the back of my neck standing to attention.
Regards
Phil
As far as a sport photo goes this image was awarded the South Australian Rally Photograph of the year. Not sure if it's my best for the year but definitely up there
Hi all,
Took this during a hill race this year, Jackie saw me and jumped in the air and I managed to get a burst off before she hit the ground again. This is probably the best of them.
