I don't know if it was a one off - and I don't want to crash it deliberately to try but after spending 1 hour editing an image and creating about 10 different snapshots I made the mistake of re-naming one with a previously used name.
Big mistake.
The program simply complained that I needed to rename it very time I clicked anywhere - but without giving me the option to do so! The panel with the history states was not open at the time.
Even the menus and the close button did not work.
Eventually had to use task manager to close it down.
When you see the message telling you to choose a different name, you must enter a different name. If you don't enter a different name, it will keep telling you to enter a different name every time you click the mouse.
