If you are going to submit shots like this, you have to allow us equal access to the your locations. All in the spirit of fairness, of course. As a fellow nerd and astronaut wannbe since Alan Shepard set the standard, I love your website and am envious of your ability to get pretty much where ever you want to go, especially KSC and Antartica.
Thanks for all the nice feedback. I am really happy to see that people like it; usually, pictures like these fall into the domain of total nerdiness I agree that access is tough, but a boy has to dream ... and sometimes get through.
This particular monthly assignment was a good encouragement - I think we all strive for unusual angles every day, and for me this was double true given the subject. The biggest problem was not getting in people's way. As you can imagine one could get even better shots, but not without being a distraction.
The moment I set up my tripod at this location, I knew I'd have the poster frame for the whole trip. Just not sure if I like the moon or not. Should have waited a few more hours, but like with everything in space flight, get what you can when you can
