I love images like this. You've captured it well. However, it feels a little-over processed to me, with the luminance and (lack of) detail on the left not close enough to that on the right. Also, the grey behind the tree doesn't seem to blend with that to to the tree's immediate left. Mind you, I'm sure you've done a lot better than I could.
Beautiful shot ... the tree looks like it was struck by lightening at some point in its life. I agree that the immediate right of the tree looks cloudy/foggy atmospherically, whereas the left looks stark and crisp. I don't know if that was a natural phemomenom (anything is possible with Winter winds and freezing temperatures) or a pp thing. But I agree with Rich in that this would be a perfect image if that was sorted out. It's unusual and gorgeous.

Very intriguing image! I like it a lot!
The curve of the fence from the left leads you into the tree; then the curve of the tree back to the left brings your focus full circle.

Hey I perfectly understand that background detail is lost in dense fog. But I still find the processing a bit odd/harsh here like Rich does. BTW you have much more background detail on the right part. I like it but think it could have been better.
Outstanding image. Isolation, loneliness, cold are all words that come to mind when viewing this picture. Great composition and I also love how the fence runs through.
