Cool! The background (buildings, etc) and mottling sort of reminds me of the Daguerreotype "View from the Window at Le Gras". First thing I thought when I saw it!
Very good eye Tim. However I don't like the little halo effect which is going around the flower. Also maybe you can bump up the contrast a little or dodge out the city skyline in the background? That would help this image a lot
Very cool idea. I would suggest you let the city show just a bit more. I wonder about the arch, is it some type of framing? All pretty subtle for my brain Tim. I'll be interested in what others say.
Thanks to you all very much for your input. Been having fun with this type of image lately. I've really been working them a lot, but not posting much because I don't want to "burn you all out" on the theme.
Anyhow, yes, agreed with the comments regarding burning, dodging, and halo. Struggling with exposure issues lately. Time for new glasses! (or at least to wear the old ones. ha!)
