Sam the man! If you ever come to the Nashville area I gotta meet you. Your shots are so creative and the way you capture the intimacy between the couple is a gift. Your images challenge me to keep striving. But with that smoke bomb in your hands you do have crazy eyes!
Thanks
Stan R
Sam - Creative as always. I am still constantly amazed at your use of flare. You ALWAYS manage to pull it off so that it adds to your shot and doesn't block the subject. It is just always so consistent.
Thanks for the love guys. Some say praise doesn't help make you get an better. I STRONGLY disagree. Praise helps you know what your doing right. Everyone needs to know their doing okay.
Questions comment:
Spence,
My dog. I stay up so I can copy and paste all your stuff to copy it. I did a Spencer shot in this set. Just didn't post it. I'll email it to you. I thought many times while working on this set that I needs me some presetopia. Honest! I could have used your "sample 2" from the site. Whats that one called?
Tony,
I turned to see the skater was coming AND that here skates were red and told them, Now kiss NOW! Only one with red skates. Waited about 5 minutes for her.
For the record guys, Tony was this couples first choice he wasn't available at the time. Some stuff cleared up and he now is available and I'm flying him down to shoot it with me. You don't know how stoked I am bud.
amph1bius,
I do now. I didn't always. I shot 2 weddings with Tony Shreiber's and he is MASTER at getting crop in camera. I learn to do it while editing a batch of his files. You really have no clue how helpful it is to view an entire body of work from a wedding. Especially from someone as accomplished as Tony. You really get a scenes of what they were thinking viewing 500+ images. I can only hope I had the same effect on him.
Evan,
I looked at my wife while reading your comment and aked her, "what a superlative?" Check out the brain on Evan. million dollars words man.
Travis,
God gave you Spencer. That's fair enough.
Lew,
I spit coffee out. Thanks bud.
BRYAN!!!,
Post number 1? Whoa man. You MUST post some of your faves here. Be it this thread or a new one. He got some killer stuff guys.
PwrRENJ,
They are married. They had a civil ceremony back in Romania. Now it's party time. Check out the read on them on my blog: http://www.hassasphotography.blogspot.com/
Patty,
Funny you mention it. We heard cop cars and thought for they were gonna bust us. We threw everything in the cars and booked!
Stan,
I'm gonna hold you to it.
Tony,
I loled
Brian,
I contemplated a closer crop. It is the flaw in that shot. Long arms
ksmahgrts,
If I'm EVER in Boston I WILL look you up.
RichardLavigne,
I practiced. Started with them looking like crap but you get the hang of it after a while.
#3 just continues to blow my mind. i feel like sometimes we as photographers get too caught up in the technical aspects of photography, Sam, you do an amazing job of (prepare for cliche) capturing the emotion of photography. Why else do clients select prints that we don't love? They may not be technically perfect, but they are emotionally attached to them. Amazing stuff Sam. Thanks for posting!
btw. smoke bombs? are you kidding me? who thinks of smoke bombs to use during a couples shoot? just another way that Sam is pushing all of us to be more creative and think outside the box.
