Another great image of the bridge Alan. I find particularly interesting the leading lines as well as the depth in the mountains. However I feel this shot would look much better without that woman (your wife?) in the bottom left of the image. However your B/W conversion look great as your HDR's! Keep up the work.
Alan,
Judging from your "Not my wife" grin, I assume she was traveling with you (not many attractive western women travel to China alone and loiter on the Great Wall). I can imagine her joy at being told to stand "right there" for a sense of scale (every young woman's idea of romance).
Tacky humor aside, IMO the lady balances the photograph nicely ("Honey, stand over there for ballast."
I like everything about the photograph. I've been to the Wall several times, and getting such a clean shot is much more difficult than a person might imagine.
One possibility: If you cut the woman off at her knees, it would eliminate some of the empty space on the lower right. $.02 worth.
Charlie
It's tru m'lord, never seen her before in me life, honest.
Her friends and colleagues were behind me bartering with the local folk.
I'm digging myself into a hole here, best stop before the missus reads this.
Joking aside, this day was gloriously clear and on the journey in the Taxi I was constantly looking to the heavens and praying the skies will stay clear a little longer.
