Gee, I was hoping for a little bit of contrast Nice job on this Eric. I like the contrast in this one. Was put off a bit by the crane, until I connected the dots.
To further Tim's sarcasm, "Gee, too bad you couldn't make use of the stairs or rail as a lead in."
Looks good with the noise, Eric. Clone the crane out and you've got yourself "Planet Christmas Tree" orbiting Rodeo Drive!

Haha thanks Tim. I am contrast junkie, as many of you guys on this board have probably figured out already. When I saw the crane in real life I was actually quite put off as well, until I connected the dots too haha.

Yeah Tim...I am kinda bad at using stuff such as stairs or rails as lead-ins... hopefully I can incorporate them more into my images I really enjoy the high-iso noise that the 5D gives me...it looks more like film grain than actual sensor noise. The original shot also didn't show the crane...but I actually recovered it to add more "context" to the flying Christmas tree in the air ahahaha.
I prefer the image without the crane or flying tree.
I think the foreground and middle ground have enough visual interest and provide a better "focus" for the viewer. The high contrast looks good and the many textures and lights make the image.

Thanks Steadman,
I have reposted the image without the flying tree and crane haha. At first I thought it added more "depth" to the image, but now looking at it, I think it was just unnecessary. Thanks for your comment and time.

Great night shot! I also think cloning out the crane and "flying tree" would work a lot better! Good job.
Morgan
Thanks for your comment Morgan! I took the liberty of cloning out the tree which was suggested. Your comment helped me push myself to actually do it haha.
