p.1 #1 · Canon DPP Raw flow/settings/suggestions

Shooting some HS basketball of less than ideal conditions with my XTi and 85 f1.8 and shooting raw in manual mode at ISO 1600. I have processed the images in both PS Elements6 and DPP with various results. Listening/reading hear, DPP should produce better results, but with what setting? My best flow is as follows - DPP to adjust the WB from ugly lights and bring up/down brightness as needed - my best results seem to come with Sharpness set to 0 (anything else seems to leave artifacts in the converted jpg, is that normal?) - Save to .jpg ten clean up and sharpen in Neat Image.
Any suggestions for setting in DPP? Any suggestions/additions/corrections to what I am doing? Thanks!!

I would export in 16bit tiff from DPP then work from there.
