Two MacBook Pros (2.16 GHz 15" and 2.5 GHz 17"). 17" is the primary with 4 GB memory and 320 GB 7200 rpm internal drive. 15" is a slave machine with 2 GB memory and 200 GB 7200 rpm internal drive. All primary editing and business running is done on the 17". The 15" gets image exports delegated to it when I need to still be able to work on the 17". We use Aperture for image management with Photoshop for extensive editing and all resizing tasks (I don't like Aperture's resizing). We have two duplicate 1 TB RAID mirrors for backup and archiving that we keep at separate locations.

That's just not right

For a new PC, be sure to get the new Core i7 processor. The low end quad processor is fine.

To build, it's a $300 processor and a $250 mobo. Hyperthreading is back, and this build probably shows eight processors. A lot of the memory bandwidth constraints have been removed, and these processors can move a lot of data.

Core i7 920

I use a macbook pro and windows machines. I'm waiting for the next Mac Pro.
