Must have been quite a site for the bass fisherman. A local reservoir yesterday morning. A fog bank spilled over the surrounding mountains and out onto the lake. C&C?
Interesting image Jim. Very unlike a fishing scene I can think of. I would think the fisherman to be too small to count for much. If they were larger, perhaps. As it stands, IMHO, the image succeeds without those small elements. Nice moody look to it.
Nice gritty feel. You could even have nearly fooled me by giving it a title of "Lava." But only nearly fooled me! I'd like to see this even wider. Of course, our gear limits us here.
Perhaps it was misnamed, a little. You have to look for them a bit. I just tried to imagine what it may have looked like to them. There's a pano on the landscape forum showing the bank as it came over the mountains. Thanks for the comments.
Wow this is my kind of scene Jim! The ominous skies, the thick fog, and the gloomy atmosphere. I really love the feeling that you captured here, but I don't think that your title matches your image very well. When I think of 'morning bass fishing' I see some old dude throwing out a fishing line or something.
Very well done, Jim. Rather than trying to precisely identify elements (this could have been a volcanic caldera if you ask me), I prefer to let the artistic and abstract feel of this image come to the fore.
