Congrats Dave these are sharp, well focused samples, although I have many cams (gearhead) but I'm eyeing this cam, waiting to see more photos from you, Thang and Tim.

Hi Dave, that's great news on the new body! I'm with you on the cropping ability of the 50D, it's impressive for sure
Peli shots are grand and the Dove is magnificent with lovely color and detail. Always a treat to see your wild cats and these two shots are wonderful examples.
Really looking forward to seeing your progress with this equipment Dave and I share your excitement.

Dave, I've mentioned before that I was considering a 50D, so I've been looking critically at each 50D post. Your first 2 shots are nice, but not bleeding eye tack sharp, but after those 2, they rock. I'm closer to making a decision....
Thanx,
Ron
PS: have you done any ma?
Thanks Ron....the 50D can be tack sharp.
My 400 is dead on, but my 70-299 is back focusing a bit, it seems to change from f/5.6 to f/8 so I will work with it soon

Dave, the crop you have used for the first pelican works admirably well for the whole image. The dove stands out as you got her in good light nice and sharp.
The kitties are kool too.
Thank you, so much appreciate your comment

Dave: I am convinced no matter what you shoot you shine... Excellent work as always. It is good to see some results and your opinion of the 50D..
Thanks man....

Dave,
Congrats on the 50D looks like its singing already.
Great series. My pics are the first for the lovely light and the cats for the detail and poses.

nice shots Dave. Agreed with you that 50d is a memmory hogger. But the large file size allows so much flexibility for cropping. The more I use this camera, the more I like it...Have already listed my 1d2 on the Buy/Sell forum!
Garen & Tim - give it a try. Think you will like it.
Very nice set, Dave. Love #5, even if it is tight, and the Mourning Dove is perfect. The felines are beautiful and sharp with wonderful color, so I think your new toy is a keeper.
