Portability is the most important thing to me, so in my books - of all the top lenses that I can own - the 85L will see the most use, as I can practically use it as a general-purpose walk-around lens. Sure, I think the 200/2 and 400/2.8 are fabulous lenses but, personally, I will never use them as much as I don't shoot a lot of sports or wildlife.

You mean any one I don't already own? Or if I could have only one?

Any one, if there isn't one you want more than the one you already have, then pick your favorite that you have, or which ever one you want
I guess they must have stopped making the 24-70L then - since it's not on the list. If I could have only one Canon lens ever (on full frame) it would be the 24-70L, and the second one would be the 70-200 f2.8L IS....
Oh, wait, I have those already
Had a few (actually 10) of the others and sold them all.

I don't know if they stopped making it or not, but the most options I could choose for the poll was 25. so I went and just randomly picked some of the more exotic lenses
I voted for the 85 1.2L II.
This was a hard decision though as I have many of the others and like them too or I wouldnt have them. This should have been broken down into focal range/uses.
It's not on the list but I'd take a 200mm F1.8 if offered, and the minister for war and finance approved it. Next L for me though should be the 70-200 F2.8
The next lens I'll add will be the 85L, then the 24L II, then the 35L, then I'll be done. No, really, that's all I'll need. No, really, this time I mean it!
