I was wondering if any of the IR photographers, using converted camers, did the conversions themselves, bought a converted copy, or sent away for conversion. For those who did their own conversion I would like to know your thoughts on the process i.e. ease, cost, quality, etc. It is a photography medium I wish to harness and any help is appreciated.
I have converted my own camera a canon g5, even thought the directions were very straight forward I would not recommend any one doing them selves. You can see some of the unintended consequences if you search for my posting on the buy sell forum. My conversion was never right from the get go, however it did work, and still does, connected to a computer.
I was going to look for Thomas' answer in the forums. Do have a pro do the conversion. I have 3 converted cameras. (a G5 for sale cheap). Look in the Buy Sell for a used one. People are always moving up the resolution scale.
