Don't go cheap on business cards & design. Image is everything.

I used to think that way. Had nice cards on expensive paper, laid them on all the tables at the reception. Then felt totally #$%@# because they weren't viewed as the priceless-who-can-turn-that-down cards I thought they were. Now - I simply print a few at home when I need them.

You are right though - image IS everything.... the images they get afterwards.

I use 4colorprint.com and they have a wonderful silk-matte laminate that really gets the person's attention because its not rough and not glossy. Its worth requesting some samples from them and trying them out, price isn't that bad either.

If you're going to lay your down cards on all the reception tables like cheap advertising, then no wonder you didn't get the impact you were looking for. When I see other vendors lay their cards on reception tables I personally think it is tacky.

I guess it was not so much as the impact, or that I expected much from "cheap advertising" as that my ego got a reality check.

-1000 for OvernightPrints. Tried them 3 times. They screwed them all up and were impossible to reach afterwards.

AMEN.

you KNOW it'd bad when a company has an ENTIRE department for complaints and problems.
AND you end up waiting 2 hours to talk to someone in that dept.
